NYPD has tactical nukes -- up bloomberg's butt

i know your feeling safer already:

NYPD Can Shoot Down Planes, But With What Weapon? - ABC News: "The NYPD is capable of shooting down planes in the event of another 9/11-style attack on New York City, Mayor Michael Bloomberg said Monday, but it's unknown exactly what weapons the police have at their disposal, and whether their arsenal includes surface-to-air missiles.

"The NYPD has lots of capabilities that you don't know about and you won't know about," Bloomberg told reporters Monday, echoing recent comments by police commissioner Ray Kelly."

the only problem i can see with the shooting missiles and death rays and nukes and what-not at the terrorists is -- best case scenario, folks -- what goes up must come down.

so what if some numb-nuts tries to take down another high-rise with a jetliner? if it's shot down, then for damn sure it's gonna break apart and send chunks falling all over the place...

THIS is supposed to make us feel safer?

how about if NORAD or some of these billion-dollar babies of the pentagon intercept before NYPD starts with the pea-shooters?

i know this is just for PR, but for chrissake, can't they come up with anything more rational and plausible than this?
